The Belgorod area
The Belgorod area is a leading area. In the Belgorod area ferrous metallurgy manufacture is concentrated. Recently, the area management places emphasis on agriculture development. Area production is the most competitive in Russia and abroad. For the account of sufficient receipts in the area budget, social programs develop: building of sports schools, opening of palaces of creativity for children, an accomplishment of streets of cities and settlements. The Belgorod area is held up as an example to other areas by the federal government and the president of the country.
The big cities of area on a population in the order of reduction: Belgorod, Stary Oskol, Gubkin. In Prohorovka was a solving tank battle of the Great Patriotic War «the Kursk arch». Till now it is possible to find traces of war in these places with fascists.
Lately in area some tens farms have been opened. The Gubkinsky meat-packing plant is famous for quality of production. Also dairy production «Avida» is the highest quality. The condensed milk the most qualitative is Alekseevsky. Confectionery factory “Slavyanka” is the leader in the Russian market and foreign countries.
The large enterprises of area: Lebedinsky mountain-concentrating combine, Stojlensky mountain-concentrating combine, Oskolsky electrometallurgical combine, Oskolsky cement works, the Belgorod cement works and others. Recently works on working out of the Chernjansky deposit of iron ore are conducted.
